How You And The Kids Can Have Fun Together

Sunday, April 18th, 2010

Most of us parents wish we could do more things with our kids. Some of us struggle to find the time to have fun with them, while others find it hard to motivate the kids to do something, other than playing computer games and watching TV. If you need some ideas for activities to do with your kids, this article might be of some use to you.

Talk to your kids about what they have been up to and if they have any fun events coming up. Stay away from serious topics, since this is meant to be a fun conversation. If your child is not in the mood for talking, do not force them to talk to you.

During one of your talks with the kids, have them answer questions about their hopes and dreams. Knowing their goals means that you can help them achieve them. This will be a great way to bond and get closer to one another. You can also ask them if there is anywhere they would like to go, and possibly plan a vacation there one day.

Lots of kids like sweet treats, so it might be fun to bake together. Find out what their favorite desserts are or if there is anything they would like to try. Grab a recipe off the Web and some ingredients from the store, and you will be good to go.

Try cooking a really nice meal with your children. Cooking one of their favorites is usually a safe bet, since they will definitely enjoy the fruits of their labor. You might want to use an anodized cookware set when cooking with them, though, so that the food does not burn and stick easily.

Creating an album of your memories together can also be a lot of fun. If your child is quite young or loves Disney, you might want to make a Disney scrapbook album. This way, their favorite characters will be there alongside their favorite memories.

To make a scrapbook, you will also need scrapbooking tools, like scissors, staplers, and trimmers. Some things you might want to get are a cutting mat, embossing tools, rulers, and stamps. A lightbox and other art supplies, such as paints and glow gels might also be fun to use.

Try doing something creative with your children. Kids love to express themselves and make things. Also try doing things that help them achieve their goals. It can bring you all a lot closer together.

Do you have any fun camping, hiking and travel recipes for Summer snacks?

My family is planning a lot of camping, hiking and local travel to recreation areas this Summer. I am wanting to put together a list of ideas and recipes for some easy fun trail mixes, camping, hiking and travel food that my children can help me prepare.. Snacks and foods that carry easy with little to no mess or a lot of clean up, store easy and won’t melt or go bad fast in the Summer heat… Kid friendly snacks would be great! Thank you in advance.. Have a great Summer!

I suggest you search for Girl Scout recipes. There are several web sites that provide an abundance of recipes for outdoor use.

I like gorp. It used to be made of Post Sugar Crisp, M&Ms, and peanuts. It’s an energy snack. One has to be careful today with the various allergies children have.

Dried fruit “chips” (slices) are fun to make and easy to carry and eat. Banana, apricot, apple, peach, all make good chips. Banana and apple are the least messy.

I'm sad because I'm young, how can I solve this problem? : (?

I just turned 18 on 6 and I feel a little sad I I am not a child. I know people think I'm stupid and mature and all but honestly, I'm sad. I remember little and going to school and days like this (Halloween) or day before the Christmas holidays, the school would be a big party and watch movies every class and make snacks and treats and all. I do not know why I feel this way, I regret all the things I used to when I was little. I loved dressing up for Halloween and go to school and then Trick or Treating. I do not know if anyone else thinks in this way? I will not rude or nasty comments please. Thanks:)

I felt like that when I was 18. Actually I told my 18th birthday! Now that I'm about to celebrate my "Dirty Thirty" … I can not be happier. To find true love and when you have children, become a child again! I 4 children, and when Christmas comes around, I'm just like them! For school groups, I handle these bags, and clothe my children with me and all that jazz. Welcome to your age and live his life. You never get that time you have to think about how things are, blah … if the height and enjoy! Good luck, love!
